The contract was awarded to China’s TY Lin International at a ceremony held Sunday. At the event, Chen Shaohu, President of TY Lin International, signed on behalf of the company, while Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib signed on behalf of the Ministry of Housing.
The ministry stated that TY Lin International will provide technical advice for the Addu bridge project, including survey work, design, technical specifications, and preparation of tender documents.
The Arab Contractors, a state-owned company from Egypt, had previously been contracted on 19 February last year to carry out the design and feasibility study for the bridge linking Addu’s Hithadhoo and Hulhumeedhoo.
