RCC awarded contract for Hulhumalé Waqf project
The Ministry stated that the project is expected to generate more than MVR 52 million annually.

Rasheed Carpentry and Constructions (RCC), owned by Maafannu North MP and MNP President Mohamed Nazim, has received the contract to construct the Dhaaru Salaam Waqf building in Hulhumalé.
A signing ceremony was held at the Islamic Centre. Islamic Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed signed on behalf of the government, while Managing Director Ibrahim Rasheed signed for RCC.
The project involves the development of a 12-storey Dhaaru Salaam Waqf building.
According to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, the plan includes a basement parking area, a ground-floor reception and parking, commercial space on the first floor, and offices, prayer rooms, and meeting rooms from the third to the twelfth floors. Multi-purpose halls will be placed on the second and eleventh floors, and the rooftop will be an open terrace. A day-care centre, an elevator, and access for people with special needs are also included.
The contract was awarded to RCC for MVR 244.5 million, with a completion period of 24 months. Financing is provided through Islamic Finance of the Bank of Maldives (BML).
The Ministry stated that the project is expected to generate more than MVR 52 million annually. Of the income, 20% will go to the Zakat House of Maldives, and 80% will be allocated to the Islamic Waqf Fund.
