The Palestinian Under-17 football team has arrived in the Maldives for a training camp ahead of the AFC Under-17 qualifiers.
President Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Saajidha Mohamed hosted a lunch for the visiting team on Tuesday.
The team is in the Maldives as part of its preparations for the regional qualifiers and played two friendly matches against the Maldives Under-17 team. The lunch took place at the ballroom of Hotel Jen.
President Muizzu and Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef also purchased souvenir tickets for the two matches between Palestine and the Maldives. All proceeds from the ticket sales were donated to the Palestinian Football Association, which lost its headquarters in an Israeli attack.
