Maldives launches telethon to support cyclone victims in Sri Lanka

A special telethon has been launched to assist victims of cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka.
The telethon, initiated by PSM, will run until 1pm on Sunday.
According to PSM:

Fund boxes will be placed in various locations in Malé, Hulhumalé and Villimalé

Cash donations can be placed in the boxes

Arrangements have been made for online contributions, including a QR code for deposits

Members of the public may participate in the telethon and contribute to the fund
PSM has also appointed an independent audit firm to monitor receipts and ensure transparency.
The government has decided to donate USD 50,000 and 25,000 cases of canned tuna to support Sri Lanka.
Cyclone Ditwah, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, has brought heavy rain and flooding to Sri Lanka. According to the country’s Disaster Management Centre, 159 people have died and more than 200 are missing. Hundreds of thousands have been affected.
