Zameer to chair reconstituted crisis committee

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reconstituted the crisis committee established on February 28 in response to developments in the Middle East.

Those who have left the committee include former Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Abdulla Khaleel, who served as chair, former Minister of Tourism Thoriq Ibrahim, former Minister of Defence Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, and former Minister of Higher Education Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed.
Following a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the committee has been reconstituted with new members.
Minister of Finance and Public Enterprises Moosa Zameer has been appointed as chair. Other members are Minister of Foreign Affairs Iruthisham Adam, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam, and Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen.
According to the President’s Office, the committee is tasked with coordinating measures to address the impact of developments in the Middle East on the Maldives.
