The Criminal Court on Saturday found Hassan Mamdooh guilty of 94 out of 104 charges in connection with the sale of K-Park flats.

A hearing scheduled for Thursday did not proceed due to Mamdooh’s absence. Proceedings resumed at 2.00 pm on Saturday, after Mamdooh was produced before the court in police custody.

The court ruled on several charges against Mamdooh and a co-accused during the hearing.

Judge Ali Nadeem found Mamdooh guilty of 46 counts of tax evasion. A decision on the remaining four tax-related charges will be delivered at a later date. He was also found guilty of 44 counts of fraud, with six related charges deferred for a later ruling.

The court further convicted Mamdooh of money laundering and three counts of knowingly submitting invalid documents with the intent to deceive.

The judge also ruled on charges against the co-accused, Jaishan. Jaishan was found guilty of 41 counts of fraud, with five charges pending a later decision. Of 20 tax-related charges, 19 were proven as complicity in tax evasion. He was also convicted on 25 additional tax evasion charges, aiding and abetting money laundering, and three counts of knowingly submitting invalid documents with intent to deceive.

The court scheduled a sentencing hearing for Tuesday morning, at which time it will also rule on the remaining charges against both defendants.
