Former film director Abdul Faththah dies after stroke
Family sources said he suffered a stroke and died while undergoing treatment.
Former film director Abdul Faththah died on Tuesday evening while receiving treatment following a stroke.
Faththah had returned to his home island of HA. Kelaa after stepping away from film work. He was preparing to contest the upcoming local council elections on the Progressive National Congress (PNC) ticket at the time of his death.
Family sources said he suffered a stroke and died while undergoing treatment. He had been operating a restaurant in Kelaa in recent years.
Faththah’s most recent film, Hadhdhu, was released in 2017. He had remained out of the film industry since then.
Over his career, he directed a number of films and television series, including 14 Vileyrey, Vehey Varey Therein, Dopatta, Hinithun Velaashe Kalaa, and Thiey Mi Hithuge Vindhakee.
