The Maldives has condemned attacks on energy infrastructure carried out by Israel and Iran amid ongoing developments in the Middle East.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it condemns strikes on oil and gas facilities in the region.

The ministry referred to Israel’s strikes on Iran’s South Pars gas field and said such actions violate international law and affect regional stability and global energy supply.

The Maldives also condemned attacks carried out by Iran targeting energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait.

The statement noted that the incidents have contributed to an increase in global oil and gas prices.

The government called on all parties to stop hostilities and engage in dialogue.

The Maldives also urged efforts to support stability in the region and maintain the flow of energy supplies.
