Authorities alerted to commercial laundry operation in Vinares flat
The use of residential units for commercial activities is not permitted.
Authorities have been alerted to a commercial laundry operation being conducted inside an apartment at the Vinares housing complex.
A video circulating on social media shows the activity taking place inside one of the residential towers, where occupants began residing about three years ago. The footage shows the apartment’s living room and bedrooms being used for business purposes.
The setup includes several washing machines, along with areas designated for ironing and folding. The video also shows bags of laundry and individuals working at the premises.
The social media post has raised concerns regarding safety, particularly the use of equipment powered by Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The footage also shows the delivery of gas cylinders to the apartment.
The use of residential units for commercial activities is not permitted. The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has previously stated that action will be taken against such cases.
Members of the public have tagged HDC and its officials on social media, calling for action. Concerns have also been raised regarding enforcement.
