PG office introduces remote work, online meetings to cut costs
The office said staff will work from home every Tuesday and official meetings will be conducted through online platforms.
The Prosecutor General’s Office has announced a set of measures, including remote work and online meetings, in response to current conditions and cost considerations.
In a statement issued on Monday, the office said staff will work from home every Tuesday and official meetings will be conducted through online platforms. The measures will remain in place until the end of next month.
The office outlined several steps, including reduced office hours, lower electricity usage, reduced paper use and limits on the use of office vehicles.
The Prosecutor General’s Office stated that essential duties requiring physical presence will continue at the office, and attendance at court hearings will proceed as scheduled.
It added that meetings requiring in-person participation will continue where necessary.
To reduce electricity use, staff have been encouraged to complete work from home after 2:00pm on regular working days where possible. Office closing time has been set at 6:00pm.
“These changes will not result in any disruption or delay to the services provided by this office to the public or other institutions,” the statement said.
Similar measures have been introduced by Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company and Bank of Maldives.
Other government offices continue to operate under existing working arrangements.
