Veymandoo land reclamation completed
President Muizzu noted that dredging work commenced on 12 March and was completed within 23 days.
A total of 27 hectares of land has been dredged in Thaa Veymandoo, according to an announcement made on the social media platform X.
The Ministry of Construction awarded the contract for the project to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company on 24 September 2025. The project was valued at approximately MVR 113 million and was scheduled for completion within 270 days.
In an earlier statement, MTCC indicated that 15.40 hectares of land would be dredged under the project.
However, President Mohamed Muizzu stated in a post published Tuesday that 27 hectares had been dredged as of last Saturday. He further noted that dredging work commenced on 12 March and was completed within 23 days.
