Foreigner injured in Feeali harbour fire

A foreign national has been injured following a fire at the petrol shed and harbour in F. Feeali, the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has confirmed.

According to available information, the fire started at the petrol shed and a fuel vessel that was docked for refuelling. The injured individual was on board the vessel at the time.
MNDF said the individual sustained burn injuries and is receiving treatment at the local health centre.
The fire spread from the initial site to other vessels in the harbour.
Authorities reported that two boats and a dinghy were destroyed. A nearby ice plant was also affected by the fire. The fuel shed dispenser and parts of the structure were damaged.
Images released by MNDF show that the vessels involved were extensively damaged.
The fire has since been brought under control. The cause of the incident has not been determined.
