A man has died after falling from a coconut palm in Hdh. Kulhudhuffushi.
The deceased was identified as 36-year-old Hussain Shifaz. He died while receiving treatment on a ventilator at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Malé.

Neykurendhoo Council President Ali Siraj said Shifaz fell a week ago while climbing a coconut palm during a trip to Kulhudhuffushi for work.
“He climbed to clear the tree. He fell unconscious and died,” Siraj said.
Shifaz was first treated at Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital. He was transferred to Malé three days ago after his condition did not change.
