The woman, who was pulled out from the sea near Sinamale Bridge, is a foreigner, police said on Monday.
A woman who was found drifting in the sea near the Sinamale Bridge last Saturday was taken to IGMH. The woman was dead when she was taken to the hospital, the hospital said.
The man who picked her up from the sea said the woman was a foreigner but police did not say what country she was from.
Police have advised people to be careful when swimming and not to travel to uninhabited islands and sandbanks as the weather is unusually bad these days. Two people died from drowning last week alone.
