Autopsy underway in suspicious death of 4-month-old

Authorities are investigating the death of a 4-month-old child in Kaafu Guraidhoo, following a report made on Saturday.
The child's body is set to be taken abroad for an autopsy as part of the ongoing inquiry.

According to a Guraidhoo council official, the child passed away Friday night and was unresponsive when taken to the island’s health center.
The body was subsequently transported to Malé by a police speedboat for further examination.
“We were preparing to bury the child, but the police intervened, stating that the matter required investigation,” the council official explained.
