Bodies of all the Indians who lost their lives in last week's fatal fire in Maldives have been sent back to India, the country's embassy in Male announced Thursday.
The police had earlier said that they were doing the needful to send the bodies of those who lost their lives in the fire that broke out in a garage at M. Nirufehi in the juncture between Iskandhar Magu and Koarukendi Magu on the night of 9 October.
Eight Indians and two Bangladeshi nationals were killed in the incident.

The Indian High Commission in the Maldives tweeted that the bodies of all the Indians who died in the fire have been sent back to their country.
"We thank Maldivian authorities for their support in this regard," the High Commission said.
However, it is yet clear if the bodies of the Bangladeshis were sent to their country.
Since the investigation is still ongoing, it is not possible to say directly, the cause of the fire.
