Ghassan Maumoon has resigned from his position as Minister of Defence on Tuesday.
His resignation comes amid changes within the cabinet and state-owned enterprises following the outcome of recent elections.

According to information reported by Dhauru, Ghassan resigned from his post. The reasons for his resignation have not been disclosed.
Ghassan was appointed as Minister of Defence on November 17, 2023, the first day of the current administration.
He is the son of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. During the recent referendum, Maumoon Abdul Gayoom voted against the proposal to hold presidential and parliamentary elections at the same time, differing from the position of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
