Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Ali Ihusaan has stated that no investigation is being conducted against Deputy Speaker of the People’s Majlis Mohamed Nazim.

Nazim, who represents the Dhiggaru constituency from the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC), was removed from two parliamentary committees earlier this week.

Following the development, claims circulated alleging that police were conducting a criminal investigation against him.

Responding to a question at a press conference held at the President’s Office on Thursday, the Minister rejected the claims.

“You should reconsider your sources of information; the information you have is incorrect. It is essential to rely on sources that provide accurate information. These claims are entirely baseless, and no investigation is being carried out,” he said.

No further details were provided regarding the committee changes or the reports.
