Police are investigating an assault involving two expatriates in Ga. Gemanafushi in which one individual was injured with a sharp weapon.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the incident was reported at around 11:00 PM on Saturday.
Police said the injured individual was initially treated at Gemanafushi Health Centre before being transferred to Ga. Villingili Hospital for further treatment.
Authorities also confirmed that an expatriate man was taken into police custody at the scene.
Police have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the incident or the condition of the injured individual.
The case remains under investigation.
