Haleem, of M. Fathkooni, died on Tuesday after spending more than five decades in public service, much of it at Muliaage, where he served under six Maldivian presidents.
Following his passing, President Mohamed Muizzu expressed condolences to Haleem’s family and paid tribute to his years of service to the state.
In a message of condolence, President Muizzu said Haleem had dedicated the greater part of his life to public service.
“The late Ibrahim Haleem spent the greater part of his faithful service, spanning more than half a century, at Muliaage,” the President said.
He noted that Haleem worked alongside six former presidents during his career and carried out his duties over many years at the presidential residence.
In recognition of his service, Haleem received the National Award for Public Service in 2021. He remained employed at Muliaage at the time the award was conferred.
Haleem was regarded as one of the longest-serving members of staff at the presidential residence, having continued his work through successive administrations.
His passing marks the end of a public service career that spanned more than 50 years.
