President instructs ministers, SOE heads to respond to PNC MPs
The issues raised by MPs reportedly included constituent concerns, employment-related matters and development projects within their constituencies.
President Mohamed Muizzu has instructed cabinet ministers and heads of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to respond to telephone calls and messages from members of the ruling People's National Congress (PNC).
The directive was reportedly issued earlier this week following concerns raised by PNC parliamentarians about difficulties in contacting some ministers and SOE executives.
According to information reported by Dhauru News, several PNC lawmakers had expressed frustration over what they described as a lack of communication from certain government officials and company heads.
Sources cited by the news outlet said the President addressed the matter on Monday through the official WhatsApp group used by PNC members of Parliament, which he administers.
In the message, President Muizzu reportedly informed lawmakers that he had instructed ministers and SOE heads to respond to calls and messages from members of Parliament.
According to sources familiar with the discussions, MPs had raised concerns that requests and complaints brought to them by constituents were becoming difficult to address because some officials could not be reached.

One source told Dhauru that citizens often bring complaints and requests to their elected representatives, but lawmakers had encountered difficulties forwarding those concerns when officials failed to answer calls or respond to messages.
Neither the President's Office nor the officials concerned have publicly commented on the reported directive.
