2 children rescued from sea in Himandhoo
Police said a woman alerted officers after noticing that the children were in difficulty in the water.
Two children were rescued after encountering difficulty while swimming off the coast of AA. Himandhoo, police said.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the children, aged 11 and 12, were rescued by a local resident and a police officer.

At the time of the incident, the children were about 100 metres from the shoreline.
According to police, witnesses said Police Constable Ibrahim Nabeeh and Himandhoo resident Mohamed Ahil entered the sea immediately and swam to the children before bringing them safely back to shore.
Police said both children had swallowed seawater during the incident but did not sustain serious injuries.
The police have urged the public to exercise caution when swimming and to ensure children are properly supervised while in the water.
