High Court judge Ibrahim Mahir retired Sunday, less than a year after his appointment to the court.
The High Court announced his retirement in a social media post, thanking him for his service. The reason for his retirement was not disclosed.
Mahir, who previously served as chief judge of the Family Court, was appointed to the High Court on 25 September last year.
His retirement brings to a close more than 20 years of service in the judiciary. He began serving as a Civil Court judge in 2005 before being appointed to the Family Court in 2010.
He became chief judge of the Family Court in 2022, a position he held before joining the High Court.
