WAMCO discontinues cleaning Male public places
According to WAMCO, the five-year agreement between the company and the Council expired on Sunday, and the council has not renewed it.
Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO) on Monday stopped cleaning the public places of Male after the expiry of the agreement between the company and the Male City Council to clean and collect waste from public places in Male and Villimale.

WAMCO will continue to provide household garbage.
Male Mayor Dr Mohamed Muizzu said in early December that the council will take over waste collection from public areas in Male once their agreement with WAMCO expires later this year. He had said the council will collect garbage only from public places and household waste will continue to be collected by WAMCO.
