Maritime, underwater crime investigation training for MNDF
On the occasion, French Gendarmerie donated underwater cameras to the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
For the first time, a forensic diving course for the investigation of sea and underwater crimes has been conducted in the Maldives.
The course, organised by EU Crimario in collaboration with French Gendarmerie and MNDF Coast Guard, concluded and the participants were given certificates on Saturday.
The completion ceremony of the course was held at Bandarakoshi Auditorium this morning by Colonel Ibrahim Hilmy, Commandant, MNDF Coast Guard. Six personnel from MNDF Coast Guard, Sri Lanka Coast Guard and Sri Lanka Navy participated in the course held from January 3 to 13 at MNDF Kalaseenu Koshi in Hulhumale.
On the occasion, French Gendarmerie donated underwater cameras to the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
Speaking on the occasion, Coastguard Commander Colonel Ibrahim Hilmy said that this is the first time such a course has been conducted in the Maldives and such courses are important for the security forces of countries in the Indian Ocean region.
