A 60-year-old local man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl, police said Monday.

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in a northern island on December 28, police said.

In a message to the media on Monday, the police said:

The 60-year-old man was arrested late Monday night under a warrant
The police are investigating the case further

The police are yet to reveal any further details.
