Maldives Red Crescent on Tuesday opened a fund to provide relief to those affected by earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
A powerful earthquake struck Turkey's southeastern region near the Syrian border on Monday, bringing buildings in the area to the ground and the death toll still continues to rise. Elbistan district in Kahramanmaraş Province in southern Turkey was also hit by tremors.
The death toll in the quakes has risen to more than 6,300, but many are still trapped under collapsed buildings.
Several countries have been opening funds to help those affected.

In response to this appeal, the Red Crescent has opened for giving financial assistance from Tuesday till February 14, the statement said.
