Covid vaccination for kids in 5-11 age group begins
According to data released late last year, there has been a sharp decline in the number of people vaccinated in the country.
Pfizer vaccine will be administered to children between the ages of 5 and 11 as well, Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Tuesday.
So far, three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered in the Maldives to people above the age of 12 years. In addition, a fourth dose is administered to everyone above the age of 18.
In an announcement, HPA said the Maldives Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation has recommended that the Pfizer vaccine be administered to children between the ages of 5 and 11as well.
With this decision, vaccine will be administered from vaccination centres in the Greater Male Region as well as hospitals and health centres in the atolls, HPA added.
Pfizer vaccination sites and timings in the Greater Male Region:

IGMH – 9am to 12 noon every Sunday

Hulhumale Hospital – Every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-2pm
