Three police officers are receiving treatment for smoke inhalation following a fire at the Ensis Fisheries warehouse in the industrial zone of Hulhumale on Thursday evening.
According to police, the fire broke out in the Hulhumale industrial area, producing a large volume of smoke. Authorities advised the public to avoid the area unless necessary due to health risks associated with smoke exposure and limited road visibility.
Police confirmed Friday that three officers involved in firefighting efforts were affected by the smoke. The officers have been receiving treatment at Hulhumale Hospital since Thursday night.
Police said the officers are now recovering.
Residents in nearby areas were advised to keep windows and doors closed and to wear masks when outdoors to minimise exposure to the smoke.
