Talks with contractors on incomplete flats underway: HDC

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) said on Sunday that it is in talks with contractors to carry out the construction of flats in Hulhumale which have been pending for a long time.

Apartment complexes in the first phase of Hulhumale has been delayed for several years now, including the flats constructed by Jausa Construction's Jaah Investment and the 'K-Park Residence' built by another company. The complaints of those who bought flats from these properties have gone up and they have not been addressed at all.

Amid growing public complaints over the delay in construction of The Gardens by Jaah as well as the K Park Residence adjacent to it, HDC said:

Work on The Gardens apartments being built by Jaah Investments in Hulhumale has been stalled for the past five years, but the company said last week that it would complete and hand over the apartments by September this year. 

The Hanbo company, which is working on K Park, had earlier said it would open last year. However, the date they gave already passed and the company has not given any update on the project in the recent past. The HDC has extended the deadline four times to complete the construction work.
