President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Monday established a new government agency called the National Job Centre.
It was set up to implement employment-related policies. It will be run by the economic ministry.
The agency's activities include:

Connecting employers with job seekers in the country

Providing career guidance services to working-age people

Provide information about the employment opportunities that people with special needs and those with social security can perform and help them find employment opportunities

Collaborating with employers and NGOs to expand employment opportunities
It is also the responsibility of the National Job Centre to conduct research related to the labour market and provide the information gathered from these studies to the relevant authorities.
As per the notification announcing the formation of the agency, the number of the National Job Centre to be used by the state agencies in the written letters is 490.
