President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Friday met with Mohamed 'Uchchu' Moosa, one of the most influential businessmen of the Maldives, ahead of the presidential elections scheduled for 9 September.
They met at K. Thunbafushi, also known as Champa Giri, which has been awarded to Mohamed Moosa for fisheries and farming work. Mohamed Moosa and his wife had given the Iftar to the president and First Lady Fazna Ahmed.
President Solih was presented with a jersey with 'Ibu 23' written on it. However, the President's Office is yet to reveal the details.
Prior to the meeting, a group of representatives of President Solih had recently met with Mohamed Moosa.
The president was accompanied by defence minister Mariya Ahmed Didi and education minister Aishath Ali and a few other close aides who also were at Champa Giri on Friday.
