2 companies awarded MVR 686m contract to build 7 island hospitals
The hospitals will also be constructed including flu clinics and an isolation facility, Health Minister Ahmed Naseem said on Monday.

Agreements were signed with a Maldivian company and an Indian company on Monday for the construction of hospitals in seven islands of the Maldives at a total cost of MVR 686.8 million.
At a ceremony held on Thursday to mark the World Health Day, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced that the 30-bed hospitals will be contracted this week under the Kuwait fund's assistance.

Agreements were signed with contractors on Monday at a function held at the health ministry.
While the work on hospitals in four islands was awarded to local company Duplex Private Limited, the remaining three hospitals were awarded to Indian firm Anand Build Tech Private Limited.

A total of MVR 686.8 million will spent on the project. The health ministry expects the hospitals to be complete in a year-and-a-half.
