For the first time in Hulhumale, pedestrian crossing lights have been installed.
Vice President Faisal Naseem inaugurated the lights on Friday.
Urbanco said the lights will be near Hulhumale Hospital and Hiyaa flats area.
The company will install pedestrian crossing lights at nine locations in Hulhumale including these two areas. According to the company, priority will be given to installing the lights only after identifying the zebra crossings and other areas used by pedestrians to cross the road.
According to the company, one of the main objectives of installing pedestrian crossing lights is to provide a safe environment for residents of Hulhumale and those visiting Hulhumale for various purposes. The company believes that this will make it easier for pedestrians.
