Court releases 'dangerous criminal' in multiple gang fights, assaults
Police told Atoll Times on Wednesday that the court released him when he was produced in court on Tuesday for his remand review.

Criminal Court on Tuesday released Mohammed Mafaz Hussain Saleem, who was arrested last month in a street fight after he had been acquitted for the murder of Nadeem Abdul Raheem who was stabbed to death inside the former Terminal Cafe in Male.
On July 2017, Nadeem was killed by two masked men that entered the Terminal Cafe and stabbed him in the head. The prosecution charged Mafaz with intentional homicide. He was released on 14 November 2022 after he was acquitted.

Five months later, he was arrested on charges of assaulting a police officer in another fight; he was remanded in custody for seven days and later released

On June 3, Mafaz was among those arrested for attempting a street fight using sharp weapons
His remand has been extended twice and the last remand was due to be reviewed on Tuesday.
Police told Atoll Times on Wednesday that the court released him when he was produced in court on Tuesday for his remand review.
Police said charges were filed on June 13 over the two gang fights:
