A man has been sentenced to seven years in jail for stabbing a man after forcibly dragging him out of the shower.

On August 16 last year, Ahmed Visham was forced out of the shower of his own home and stabbed in the forehead and left shoulder. The prosecution charged Ahmed Nabeel, M.Golden Leaf/Male with assault with a sharp object.

Visham, who was injured in the attack, told the court that the door to the shower was forced open by two others, including Nabeel. He was attacked by Nabeel. The policeman who went to the scene told the court that he met Visham as he was leaving the house with injuries. The policeman said that Visham had said even then that Nabeel had attacked him.

Although Nabeel denied the charges, the Criminal Court ruled on Wednesday that the CCTV footage submitted by the police showed that Visham's statement in the investigation was true. The court also said it could not believe that a man who just got attacked could have lied about his assailant at the time.

Assault with sharp weapons is a criminal offence. The penalty for this offence is between seven and 10 years in prison.

Nabeel was sentenced to seven years in prison because Visham received treatment for his injuries and the injuries were not life-threatening.
