The MDP presidential candidate, President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih's running mate Mohammed Aslam, has launched a heated verbal attack on his rivals in the upcoming presidential election.
Aslam, who is also the Member of Parliament for Hithadhoo North Constituency, has launched verbal attacks on his rivals while he was speaking to the people of G.A. Villingili, as part of President Solih’s campaign tour to the province.
Aslam said the MDP rivals do not exhibit better manifestos. Noting this, he criticized the JP presidential candidate, Mamigili MP Gasim Ibrahim. He launched a verbal attack on Gasim for saying that he would create 100 millionaires within the first five years of the JP government.
"One says he will create so many millionaires. The question is how many millionaires have been created from among his employees in the last 50 years”.
Apart from Gasim, Aslam also criticized former President Yameen, who is serving a jail sentence for money laundering, and his PPM supporters.
Targeting Yameen, he said there would be room to call a person a thief once he is convicted of theft. He said this in connection with the opposition now calling President Solih a thief.
"So thieves have to know what thieves are. If the person they support is a thief, it doesnt mean that everyone else is a thief," Aslam said.
