MDP pledges Recovery Villages as holistic drug rehabs
According to the manifesto, such recovery villages will be established in three regions of Maldives, but it is not yet known exactly where.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has included in his second term manifesto the establishment of Recovery Villages to provide all the services and treatment needed to rehabilitate drug addicts back into society.
The MDP's 'Ufaaveri Male' manifesto for next Saturday's presidential election has been launched at a rally in Carnival area in Male on Friday. The manifesto includes the establishment of recovery villages.
According to the manifesto, recovery villages will provide all the services and treatment needed to bring drug addicts back into society, as well as life skills and training.
The recovery villages will provide the following services:

Treat by setting long-term recovery goals

Assist in developing a comprehensive aftercare plan of next steps after completion of treatment

Increase self-confidence through therapy sessions and developing healthy habits

Using techniques such as therapy, strengthen family bonds and create an environment where addicts can get the support they need from home when they get back out into the community
The facilities in the proposed villages are:

Rehabilitation centre

Living spaces

Sports facilities

Dedicates spaces for family visits

Vacant spaces to relax

Shops for personal shopping

Multi-purpose hall
