Contact tracing begins as Maldives discovers another measles case
HPA said the ring vaccination will be administered to those who have not received the vaccine dose in the area where the infected person lives.
An additional case of the eradicated measles has been confirmed in Maldives.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirmed the case in a post on X on Wednesday:

However, no further information was given about the case. Therefore, the HPA did not disclose where the person was found.
Contact tracing will be conducted to identify and vaccinate those who have not received the measles vaccine. The agency said the ring vaccination will be administered to those who have not received the vaccine dose in the area where the infected person lives.
In April, the Maldives reported a case of measles. After the resurgence of the eradicated disease in the Maldives, the Maldives had announced an outbreak of measles at the time.
However, the child identified then had been fully vaccinated for the disease, according to authorities. Contact tracing of the case was carried out and no other infected persons were identified.
