Sri Lankan company contracted to build 200 housing units in Thinadhoo
The housing units to be built under the project is 700 square feet each.

Government on Thursday awarded the construction of 200 housing units in GDh. Thinadhoo to Joint Venture (JV) between Sri Lanka's Sierra Construction and Star Construction and Engineers.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at the planning ministry Thursday afternoon.

The housing units to be built under the project is 700 square feet each. Each apartment includes three rooms with a sit-in and a shower, a bathroom, a dining area, a laundry area and a store room.
While the project was awarded to a joint venture from Sri Lanka, it has been confirmed that capable and experienced Maldivian companies have also submitted bids for the project. Some of the companies have proposed lower prices than the Sri Lankan company.
