President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said on Tuesday that the aim now is to start working to ensure MDP's victory in next year's parliamentary elections and the 2028 presidential elections.
"My future aim is to win this next Parliament’s majority for this party and do everything I can to bring this party to power in 2028, starting from today," he said in his first address to the party’s National Council members after his defeat in the presidential election.
The president assured the party of his full cooperation in this regard.
He said the MDP wants to move forward in line with the thinking of the youth. He also urged the youth to continue and move up in the party's affairs.
