President-elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu's swearing-in ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday. It is learnt that the swearing-in of the new cabinet will take place at 5.30 pm on the same day.
The swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect will be held at the Republic Square on Friday evening. Invitations have been sent to allies to attend the ceremony.

5:30 - Cabinet appointment
The new government will host an official dinner at the Kurumba Maldives resort on Friday evening. The dinner will be held at 9:30 pm.
The venue is being prepared for the inauguration ceremony at Republic Square.
This is the first time a Maldivian President has been sworn in at Republic Square. The incumbent was sworn in at a ceremony at the National Stadium. Under the new constitution, the previously elected Presidents, Mohammed Nasheed and Abdullah Yameen, were sworn in at a ceremony at the Dharubaaruge.
