Working hours of the employees of the technical agencies under the Ministry of Health have been increased.
The official working hours of government employees are from 8 am to 2 pm.
However, the official working hours of the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) and Health Protection Agency (HPA) employees have been extended to 4 pm from next month.
Employees have been informed of the increase in working hours by an internal memo. The increase in working hours has been given to employees who have migrated to the new salary structure under the pay framework.
The decision was taken without consulting the Civil Service Commission, the commission confirmed on Thursday.
The ministry has not yet commented on the extension.
