A special portal will be set up on the President's Office website to allow people to submit their complaints directly to President Mohamed Muizzu.

He was speaking at the 'Kangathi Awards' ceremony held by the Local Government Authority (LGA) at Dharubaaruge on Wednesday evening.

"I will set up a portal on the President's Office website where every citizen can ask me questions and submit their grievances, ideas and hopes directly to me," the President announced.

He said this after noting that he had worked closely with the people through the portal set up on the city council’s website during his tenure as the city mayor and said he wanted to do the same as president.

The portal on the President’s Office website is already underway. "We want to establish a two-sided government in the true sense," he said.

"I will work by listening to the voice of the people, and be close to the people. I will meet the people frequently and check on their welfare," he said, noting that ministers and heads of companies in this government would follow the same principle.

Delegations including ministers and heads of companies will travel to all the islands of Maldives this weekend, he said.
