36 candidates confirm MDP parliamentary ticket uncontested
MDP said the constituencies where more than one candidate has contested will be announced at a later date.
Thirty-six candidates, including some incumbent MPs, have been confirmed the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) ticket for the upcoming parliamentary election without a primary.
They have secured the ticket as no other candidate has contested the constituency in the opportunity opened by the MDP to express their interest in contesting the upcoming parliamentary elections.
The names of the candidates who have won the party ticket without a primary were announced on the party website on Wednesday.
According to the list, the tickets were secured without a primary as no other candidate was contesting. The list is as follows:

MDP said the constituencies where more than one candidate has contested will be announced at a later date as decided by the Committee which was formed in accordance with the decision of the party's National Assembly.
