'Indian team' hacks Juvenile Court website with threats
This is the first time that Indian hackers have claimed responsibility for a cyber attack and issued a warning to Maldives.
A team of alleged Indian hackers going by the name United Indian Hackers has hacked the website of the Maldivian Juvenile Court.
When you try to access the Juvenile Court website, you now see a warning message written by the team that hacked it.
The website was hacked by, 'Team Network9' hackers. In their warning message:
-
The court's website was hacked in connection with the recent remarks made against India by three deputy ministers of the Maldivian government. It has disrupted relations between the two countries
-
The hackers reminded Maldivians of the assistance provided by India to Maldives and said that the people of Maldives did not accept it and mockery of Indian cultures was unacceptable
-
They made sure to note that this country is getting a bad name because of the incumbent President Mohammed Muizzu and senior government officials
Hackers have threatened to wreak havoc on Maldives's cyberspace if it continues to spread racism and hate speech against India.
Therefore, the hackers' team asked the government to resolve the issue as soon as possible and improve relations between the two countries. If that doesn’t happen, further action will be taken, they warned.
The message ends with hashtags being used on social media calling for people to come to Indian islands.
This is the first time that Indian hackers have claimed responsibility for a cyber attack and issued a warning to Maldives.
However, with the tension between India and Maldives, Maldivian tourism has been boycotted, Maldivian resorts have been given low ratings and poor reviews, and some Maldivian resort websites have been subjected to cyber attacks in the recent days.
The websites of the President's Office, the Foreign Ministry and the Tourism Ministry were also attacked and taken down.
