Schools to introduce nationalism as subject this year

The new academic year will start in May and schools are preparing to add nationalism as a subject in the curriculum, the President's Office said on Sunday.
In order to instill patriotism in the hearts of children from school age, the inclusion of Nationalism as a subject in the subjects taught in schools has been included in Week 14 of this government.
The Cabinet meeting on Sunday discussed the paper submitted by the Education Ministry on the nationality article, Presidential Policy Office Minister Abdullah Nazim Ibrahim told a press conference at the Presidential Office.
Nazim said:

A specific subject for teaching nationalism will be included in the curriculum at the beginning of this academic year

The Ministry of Education should consult with the President's Office to include nationalism in the national curriculum
“They [the Ministry of Education] will start teaching the nationality subject when the academic year starts this year,” Nazim said.
Nazim added that the subject may not be taught to all grades at once this year and the details will be shared by the Ministry of Education.
