National centre established to research heritage
President Muizzu last month decided to establish three agencies as part of the Maldivian National Restoration System.
President Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday established the National Centre for the Study of Maldivian Heritage under the Ministry of Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage.
The President's Office issued a statement on Thursday announcing the establishment of the agency under the authority conferred on the President by Article 116 of the Constitution.
The President's Office said the National Centre for the Study of Maldivian Heritage was established:

To create and revive a knowledge of Maldivian language, history, culture, heritage, customs and nationalism through the system of reviving our heritage

To revive the national spirit and create national knowledge and understanding among the people in general
Some of the activities of the National Centre for the Study of Maldivian Heritage include:

To acquire the knowledge needed to preserve the characteristics and heritage of Maldivian identity and to apply that knowledge to Maldives and the situation of Maldivian people

To conduct scientific and technical research on the factors of nationalism and to disseminate the information obtained from such research and to keep such information updated

To identify new technologies and methodologies that can be used to conduct research on indigenous languages

To bring knowledge related to nationality, language and other heritage written in foreign languages to the Maldivian language

Translation of articles in different languages related to the country and the nation into local languages\

Bringing the Eveyla vocabulary related to Maldives into the present vocabulary

Research to ensure appropriate status for the local language in different technological contexts and to try to implement the findings of these studies

Planning and organizing scholarly conferences, academic discussions, seminars and activities related to national integration in coordination with the relevant authorities
President Muizzu last month decided to establish three agencies, including the Maldivian National Heritage Research Centre, as part of the Maldivian National Restoration System.
In addition to the National Heritage Research Centre, the following are established:

Maldivian National Heritage College - will become a 'domain leadership' college, rather than the way the existing colleges are run. What we want to achieve is to create a knowledge of nationalism among the people and build a generation that is aware of nationalism.

Maldivian National Printing House - Heritage College and Heritage Research Center will print materials here. In addition, modern products such as audio/video and podcasts of various mediums will also be published in the light of research.
In addition to the establishment of these three agencies, to promote nationalism, the subject of nationalism will be added to the subjects taught in schools this academic year.
