President Mohammed Muizzu has written his condolences and words of support to King Charles of England who is undergoing treatment for cancer.
Buckingham Palace announced the diagnosis on Monday and reported that King Charles is undergoing treatment for cancer.
President Muizzu wrote on 'X' on Tuesday that he was saddened to hear about the King's illness.
The President’s message said he hoped the King would fight the disease with ‘tenacity and resolve’. The President wished King Charles good health and a speedy recovery on behalf of the people of Maldives and himself.
Buckingham Palace said that the diagnosis was made when the 75-year-old British monarch was undergoing treatment for a recent enlarged prostate. It is not prostate cancer, but the exact type of cancer has not been revealed.
On Tuesday British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said the King’s cancer diagnosis had been “caught early" in what appeared to be an off-the-cuff remark during a radio interview with BBC.
