China to provide laboratory equipment for 17 Maldives' islands
The Health Ministry said this agreement with China would solve the problems faced by the islands due to lack of laboratory services.

A 'Letter of Exchange' was signed on Thursday for procurement of laboratory equipment in 17 islands of the Maldives with the assistance of the Chinese government.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Maldives at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Health on Thursday by Minister Dr Abdullah Khaleel. China's Ambassador to Maldives Wang Lixin signed on behalf of China.
The agreement was made to procure medical equipment for laboratories in 17 islands over a period of five years. Under this agreement, medical equipment will be provided to:

The Health Ministry said this agreement with China would solve issues faced by the islands due to lack of laboratory services. The services provided in the health centres will be strengthened and laboratory tests will be conducted easily and treatment will be expedited, the ministry said.
